Boldly empowering all students to be socially responsible, life-long learners in an ever changing world.

At Tomahawk Elementary School, we are very proud of our PBIS program.  PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.  The purpose of PBIS in our school is to create consistent behavior expectations and routines for our students and staff. PBIS builds on the positive behaviors already working in our school. These behaviors then become expectations that are taught and practiced school-wide.

This message is brought to you by the Tomahawk Elementary School Student Council & PBIS Committee.

April 14, 2014

Dear Fifth Grade Parents:

You are cordially invited to attend our 22nd annual D.A.R.E. Graduation ceremony on April 23, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. in the Tomahawk Elementary School Auditorium.  Please plan to have your child report to his/her classroom at 5:30 p.m. as there are graduation details to attend to prior to the ceremony.

As you know, Deputy Matt Gorell of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department has been presenting this substance abuse prevention program to our fifth grade students for the past several months.  I imagine your child has shared with you some of what has been discussed during Deputy Gorell’s class.

I hope you found the D.A.R.E. news to be very helpful as well.  There has been a healthy mix of fun and seriousness.  I am sure our students are sorry to see D.A.R.E. come to an end, but I hope they remember the lessons they were taught and carry the D.A.R.E. message with them throughout their lifetime.

After D.A.R.E. Graduation, there will be a reception for our graduates and their families.  I hope you will be able to join us for this special ceremony.

Dan McGuire, Principal
