Name - Shelby Bailey

Grade - 12th

Role Model - My mother. She is a very hard worker and she has high standards. She has way too much faith in me. She makes me want to match that faith. 

What activities do you participate in outside of school?  I like to read, that's about it.

Future Plans - I'd like to become a psychologist, and learn how to spell.

Thoughts from the nominating teacher - “Shelby is always a responsible and motivated student, but recently her leadership side has emerged. For our Hamlet video project, she assembled a group of students and is really motivating them to get excited about their project. In her friendly way, Shelby has taken the role of leader, helping them form a plan for their script and the filming details. I enjoy seeing the fun she brings to her group.”

Name - Mollie Calhoun

Grade - 12th

Role Model - Mr. Steffen, he has pushed me to be my best and to work hard for the things I want. He has made me a better person and I will always remember what he has taught me both in and out of class.

What activities do you participate in at THS?  Homecoming float building (10-11)

What activities do you participate in outside of school?  I participate in dance outside of school.

Future Plans - I want to become a writer.

Thoughts from the nominating teacher - “Mollie has been working so hard in AP Literature this year. She comes in for extra help during resource periods, and she has written so many essays this year for me to go over with her so that she may not only improve her chances for a good score on the AP exam in May, but to also simply because she wants to learn and become a better writer and critical thinker. I am so proud and impressed by her this year, that I feel she deserves this award.”

Name - Owen Dickrell

Role Model - My mom, cause she’s my mom

What activities do you participate in at THS?  Sleeping, golf, watching Netflix

What activities do you participate in outside of school?  Sleeping and hanging out with friends.

Future Plans - To not have anymore school and just live life to the fullest.

Thoughts from the nominating teacher - “Owen is deserving of student of the month because of his amazing transformation over the past couple of years. He has gone from a student that struggled to stay on task and do homework to a student that is always on task and works ahead on assignments. In Building Trades Class, his relentless work ethic is contagious to the other students in class, which is allowing us as class to do more. He has also developed the ability to take what he has learned and apply it to real world situations, like building a dugout. It has been amazing watching him turn himself into the hard working, intelligent, responsible young man that is before us today.”

Name - Jessen Koch

Grade - 9th

Role Model -  Mr. Jahn is a role model.

What activities do you participate in at THS? I enjoy studying History. 

What activities do you participate in outside of school?  Outside of school, I ride ATV.

Future Plans - I would like to be a mechanic.

Thoughts from the nominating teacher - “Jessen is a very kind and respectable young man. He exhibits remarkable qualities of diligence and responsibility in his approach to tasks. His strong classroom work ethic and commitment to following directions is a leading example in the classroom. Not only does he possess a natural inclination towards kindness, he is also generous in his willingness to help with extra projects in the room. He has a deep desire to do well and please others. Jessen's ability to work autonomously without constant supervision showcases his self-motivation and reliability. Jessen's exemplary behavior is not only commendable but serves as an inspiration for others to emulate in their own personal growths. I am so proud of Jessen's efforts.”

Name - Morgan Kretzschmar

Grade - 10th

Role Model - My Mom is my biggest role model because she has had such a huge impact on my life. She has taught me to be kind, resilient, and always strive for my goals. She is someone I will always look up to.

What activities do you participate in at THS? At THS, I participate in Girls Swimming, FCCLA, and NHS.

What activities do you participate in outside of school?  Outside of school, I am a lifeguard ​​​​​​​and a swim instructor, and I swim with a club team. I also enjoy spending time with my family.

Future Plans - My future hope is to go to college and become an Anesthesiologist. I also plan to continue swimming in addition to my education.

Thoughts from the nominating teacher - “Morgan is one of the hardest working students I've ever taught. She takes time to make sure she thoroughly understands the material and then consistently goes above and beyond when she completes her assignments. Her high quality work is exemplary and she comes to class each day with a willingness to learn and a smile on her face. I can't think of a more deserving person for student of the month honors. Thank you Morgan for always doing your best and going the extra mile!”

Name - Alli Palmer

Grade - 11th

Role Model - My parents and my closest friends are my greatest role models. Their dedication and hard work towards their goals is very inspiring to me.

What activities do you participate in at THS?  I run Track and Cross Country, as well as Wrestling. I have also been the Skills USA President for 2 years now.

What activities do you participate in outside of school?  I plan on going to an Undergrad to major in Equine Animal Science.

Future Plans - I hope to go to Veterinary School after my undergrad and then move around the country to gain experience working at different farms and facilities.

Thoughts from the nominating teacher - “Alli is the president of our chapter of SkillsUSA at Tomahawk High School and has been for the last 2 years. During this year's build-up to and attendance of the State Conference, she really filled that role. Leading up to the competition she (along with our Vice President) planned an itinerary to make sure that we could get the most out our days in Madison and made sure that our competitors understood their competition schedules as good as we could before we got down to Madison. While at the competition, Alli ran logistics for the other competitors while I was helping judge a competition over the 2 days we attended. This help was crucial for the success we were able to have at this competition. As the club moves forward into the 2024-2025 school year, I know it will be in good hands with her at the helm!”

Name - Hope Wojciechowski

Grade - 12th

Role Model - My sister because she is the strongest person I know. She has gone through so much and still has such a beautiful soul.

What activities do you participate in outside of school?  I like to go on nature walks/hikes. I love being by the water or any sort of water fall. I enjoy fishing a lot when I actually catch fish. I also have loved playing basketball for a while now. But most of all, I love spending time with my family and friends.

Future Plans - I want to become and electrician. If that doesn't work out, I want to do any sort of hands on construction work. I also have thought about later in my future when I am stable, I want to go to college for cosmetology and then later open my own business.

Thoughts from the nominating teacher - “Hope was a pleasure to teach in my Automotive Maintenance class and wasn't afraid to ask questions about content she wanted to learn more about. During the holiday season, we were TIG welding ornaments for an enrichment activity during flexi-schedule and Hope wanted to learn more about TIG welding. She took it upon herself to practice and hone her skills at TIG welding earning her this recognition.”

Name - Steven Woodhull

Grade - 11th

Role Model - My mom is my role model. 

What activities do you participate in outside of school?  I enjoy gaming, biking, and building things.

Future Plans - I hope to be a chef. 

Thoughts from the nominating teacher - “Steven has been a member of THS Choir for all of his high school career and for 2 years of middle school as well. In that time, he's put in the work to become a solid musician and vocalist. He's a person that other people in his section can count on to know his part and to match with as we sing. Those qualities are very welcoming for the younger singers who join our choir. We're also appreciative of his continuing membership in our tenor-bass ensemble during Solo & Ensemble Festival Season.”
